Scenario Management
You use a scenario to manage input scheduling parameters and to view scheduling results. A scenario is stored in a single scenario file, which has a .minesched extension.
Scenarios created in GEOVIA MineSched 7.0 and later have a .minesched extension. In MineSched 9.0, you can open scenarios created in MineSched 8.0, MineSched 7.1, and MineSched 7.0.
MineSched prevents you from overwriting a scenario created in an earlier version of MineSched using a later version of MineSched. For example, you cannot overwrite scenario created in MineSched 8.0 using MineSched 9.0. To save a scenario created with an earlier version of MineSched, you must save the scenario with a different name.
Note: By default, when you save a MineSched 8.0, MineSched 7.1, or MineSched 7.0 scenario in MineSched 9.0 "_90" is appended to the existing file name.
MineSched automatically creates a results folder for each scenario, one level below the folder that contains your scenario.
It is recommended that you use new scenarios to create variations of the schedule. Using a new scenario allows you to compare the results of the different schedules. Similarly, it is recommended that you use new scenarios when you update the monthly schedule, so that you maintain a permanent record of your historical schedules.
You create a scenario from an existing scenario using the Save As function from the Scenario menu. Creating a schedule by saving an existing schedule copies the scenario file and the underlying results folder.
You can copy items from one scenario to another. For example, you can copy Dashboard charts and reports within a scenario or copy the charts and reports to a new scenario, and you can copy the Dashboard layout from one scenario to another.
